This project centred on creating a bedroom for a young girl that balances practicality with a sense of personality and longevity. The brief called for a space that could support homework and creative activities, provide ample storage for toys and personal belongings, and feel feminine without being overly youthful.
One of the main challenges was the room’s awkward layout, with an angled wall limiting traditional bed placement and disrupting the natural flow. To resolve this, the design introduces an oversized, multifunctional headboard that subtly zones the space. This feature not only anchors the bed but also creates a dedicated dressing and make-up area—transforming an otherwise difficult corner into a purposeful and engaging part of the room. Integrated storage allows for easy organisation of hair accessories, clothing, and everyday essentials.
A soft, natural colour palette forms the foundation of the design, offering a calm and timeless backdrop that can evolve as the client grows. Thoughtfully layered with texture and adaptable elements, the result is a versatile bedroom that feels both age-appropriate and enduring.
